Mr. Flax,
In reading your recent letter to the editor I was, in my own way, very offended by your misleading, poorly researched and affronting claims.

First of all, I must say that if you indeed kept up with my online blog you would have seen my “acknowledgement to baseball” and how I gave my jovial avowal to baseball and its fans. And if at this juncture you still have not had the time to read what I wrote there, I would highly recommend it.

As for my column, I would like to enlighten you on the Spilled Ink publication process. We must have our work completed by a certain date in order to have the paper printed and delivered back to the school by the set distribution. This disables me from keeping up with the current events that may happen in the following weeks. And if my memory serves me correctly, the Broncos held the record of 2-0 at the distribution date while the Rockies were just four games into their remarkable run and still 3 ½ games out of the NL wildcard position. So therefore the MLB baseball playoffs had yet to begin. (I do believe that you will be most delighted to read my most recent column that is to be published in issue three, regarding those Rockies)

Finally, I would like to apologize to you and Mr. Holliday for the mistake I made spelling the National League Championship Series MVP’s name. Damn Microsoft Word for its auto-correct function.

Cordially,
Nate Alcorn
